NKULULEKO POYA

A Civil Engineering Technologist with 18 years of experience, Nkululeko Poya specialises in regulatory affairs, infrastructure business management and engineering. He specialises in supplier development through infrastructural projects from rail/road construction to building/ housing development. He has increased value of various businesses through his innovative approach to leadership and management of people within any organisation.

He has worked as the DDG (Transport) responsible for Rail, Road, Traffic Management and Public Transport. He also established a very successful Project Management Office within the Eastern Cape Roads Department.

He recently worked at the Railway Safety Regulator as the CEO, where he regulated more than 250 railway operators. Nkululeko Poya developed several policies to strengthen cooperate governance within the organisation.

Nkululeko Poya is currently a Managing Director for the Foundation for Agriculture, Safety, Water and Infrastructure (FASWI), a Non-Profit Company (NPC) established to support rural communities in improving their access to economic activities within the Agricultural sector. He is also the founder and director of Umtongata Pty (Ltd).
JANE KABAKI-RUBIA

Ms Kabaki holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and a Master in Business Law from the London Metropolitan University, Specialising in International Trade Law. Over the past 18 years, she has gained experience in governance, international development and research. She has provided academic development at various universities and contributed to policy development while pursuing research on human resources management, gender issues, equity and transformation and public management.

Ms Kabaki has worked the International Centre for Research and Agro-forestry (ICRAF) where she managed the research division and was responsible for the research administration of the regional centres in Africa, South East Asia, and Latin America. In addition, Ms Kabaki worked in the higher education sector, initially at the Centre for Higher Education Transformation (CHET), worked as a senior researcher at the Human Sciences research Council (HSRC), then Headed the Research and Policy Division of the University of Fort Hare Institute of Government (FHIG), was the Program Manager at the Leadership and Equity Advancement program of the University of KwaZulu Natal, before joining the Research and Information Division of the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) focusing on regional integration research.
